How does Decathlon measure waterproofing?
At Decathlon, we don’t just consider the intrinsic quality of the component (in this instance, a fabric with a 20,000 Schmerbers rating) but we also test the waterproof qualities of the finished product in an environmental chamber reproducing different precipitation levels.
This hat will protect you from a 4.7″ rain shower for 2 hours, or 60 L of water per hour and per square meter: quite a downpour!

What makes ripstop fabric more durable?

The ripstop fabric is a mesh-type fabric. The warp and weft design helps ensure durability and prevent potential tears.

Waterproof : Offers protection from the rain for 2 hours during a shower (60 liters h/m²).
