Its favorite terrain: the mountains. The Vibram sole offers excellent grip, while the Outdry membrane provides complete water resistance and the strap system perfectly holds the foot.
Co-designed with a group of female backpacking enthusiasts, these boots are for walking on rugged and unmarked trails with maximum grip and safety.
Co-design
These boots have been co-designed with passionate backpackers, each bringing their own special skills. For example, one of our co-designers is a chiropodist, which means, above all, that we can meet the physiological needs of the feet, to ensure comfort and optimum safety during treks.
Footwear waterproofing test
These boots, which have been laboratory and field tested, are equipped with a waterproof membrane that provides optimum waterproofing and breathability. First, the boot is immersed in water while internal air pressure is applied to check that no bubbles form on the surface of the footwear. Next, the boots are fitted to a mechanical arm that simulates walking and half-immersed in water so we can test that the inside remains perfectly dry.
3 levels of waterproofing
In the impermeability test, we test 3 levels of waterproofing:
2000 flexes (about 2.5-mile walk),
4000 flexes (about 5-mile walk)
8000 flexes (about 10-mile walk).
Of course, after this test or in use, the boot regains its original waterproofing once dry.
Footwear waterproof rating
The TREK 700 women’s boot has passed the waterproofing test involving 8000 flexes, i.e. 9 miles of walking in water up to the middle of the upper.
Laboratory tests
Laboratory tests were conducted to test the following elements:
– secure fastening of eyelets and hooks
– sole assembly
– toxicology
– UV resistance
– abrasion of the sole and upper components
– accelerated aging.
Care instructions
Use a brush and/or sponge to clean the boot and remove dirt or mud residue.
Then, air-dry away from any heat source.
Finish by spraying the upper with a waterproof spray to maintain the water-repellent properties and prolong the lifespan of the boot.
Buying tips
Try on both shoes, while standing up, with socks worn for hiking.
Try several models and sizes if necessary.
Check 2 comfort points: the base of the heel (the heel should not lift or very little) and the forefoot when going downhill (the toes should not touch the front of the boot).
Please note: NARROW FIT.
Don’t hesitate to walk around the store.
Gradually wear in your boots during your first few hikes so that they conform to your feet.
