Thermal comfort and windproof
Wind considerably increases the effect of the cold! With an outside temperature of 32Β°F and 12 mph winds, it will feel like the temperature is 14Β°F. “Windproof” components help eliminate the discomfort linked to this “freezing effect.” They are very effective at reducing heat loss by creating a barrier against the wind.
Water-repellency of the component (different to waterproofing)
Water repellency allows water to slide over its surface without seeping in.The fabric does not soak up water & stays light, breathable & warm. Water repellency is achieved by treating the fabric’s exterior. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment’s lifetime (with every or 3 washes). How to restore the water-repellent properties:https://www.quechua.co.uk/advice/how-do-you-restore-water-repellent-properties-your-jacket-a_86426?_ga=2.225541081.2119208219.1522845447-1496252894.1522845447
Environmental measures
The environmental impact of the product is calculated based on its full lifecycle using different indicators. An overall ABCDE mark is given to help you easily identify products with the best environmental performance by comparing similar products to each other (T-shirts, pants, backpacks, etc.). Decathlon is a voluntary supporter of this environmentally-friendly labeling approach. For more info: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/
Water-repellent component (not the same as being waterproof)
A fabric is water-repellent when it allows water slide over its surface without seeping in.This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight, breathable and warm.A fabric is made water-repellent by applying a treatment to its outer surface. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment’s lifetime (recommended after every 3 washes)How to reactivate the water-repellent property: https://www.quechua.co.uk/advice/how-do-you-restore-water-repellent-properties-your-jacket-a_86426
