Compact, lightweight, and water-repellent, it’s your best companion for backpacking! The advantage: Merino wool inserts under the arms reduce unpleasant odors.
The multilayer structure of this softshell, as well as its recycled microgrid fleece lining, will protect you from the wind and cold.
What is the cut of this softshell jacket?
Quite a close-fitting cut. Inner volume lets you wear a 2nd lightweight layer underneath, such as a microfleece top.
Thermal comfort and windproof
The wind makes you feel considerably colder.
Where the outside temperature is 32°F, with winds of 12.5 mph, the temperature feels like 14°F.
“Windproof” components fight the uncomfortable effects associated with this “freezing effect.” Forming a barrier against the wind, they effectively reduce heat loss.
Protective details
– Drawstring tightening with toggles at the bottom of the jacket
– Tightening at the cuffs with Velcro tabs
– Adjustable hood
What is the water-repellent property of the component?
The water-repellent property of a fabric is its ability to make water run off its surface without absorbing it.
This prevents the fabric from swelling and keeps it lightweight and warm. Please note this protects you from light, short rain showers but not from severe bad weather. The padded jacket is not waterproof.
The fabric is made water-repellent by treating its outer surface; however, this property may deteriorate with use.
We recommend that you restore it after each wash.
How to restore water-repellent properties
The water-repellent treatment becomes less effective with time, washing, and use.
