Inflating Power of down/feather filling
For this down jacket filled 75/25, the inflating power of the down/feather is guaranteed to be greater than or equal to 540 CUIN. The fill power is a measure of the down’s thermal insulation capacity and its potential to “trap” air. Down with higher fill power takes up more space, trapping more air and providing greater thermal insulation.
The advantages of down filling and duck feathers * (for the back and front of the down jacket)
The swelling and long-lasting capacity of the down gives it 3 qualities for hiking:
– Thermal insulation thanks to trapped air in down and feathers
– Ultra lightweight: down is lighter than synthetic padding while offering the same degree of warmth. This enables less weight to be carried in the rucksack
– Ultra compressible
*As part of our commitment to using responsible production methods, we have decided to work only with RDS (Responsible Down Standard) certified suppliers. This certification guarantees that the down and feathers come from ducks and geese bred for their meat, and not subjected to cruelty. The advantages of synthetic down filling (for the arms, sides and hood)
The synthetic down (padding) provides an interesting alternative to the feather:
– it provides good thermal insulation even when wet
– it provides a little breathability and may be recommended for dynamic activity (down is recommended for static or moderate activity)

In the event of rain
This down jacket fabric is water-repellent. It allows drops of water to roll over the fabric, which means it takes longer for water to penetrate the jacket, giving you time to get to shelter. But the jacket is not waterproof. We therefore recommend that you wear a waterproof jacket over your down jacket in case of prolonged exposure to rain.
Note regarding the light color versions
The X-Light down jacket is made with a fine fabric in order to make it lightweight and compact. Please note that the feathers are slightly visible through the fabric of the light gray and yellow color versions of the range.
A way to compare the environmental impact of products
The environmental impacts of the product are calculated over its entire life cycle and with the variety of indicators.
An overall ABCDE score is allocated to help you more readily identify the products with the best environmental performance by comparing the same type of product (T-shirts, pants, backpacks, etc.).
Decathlon is committed to visually displaying environmental information.

Product Testing
Thermal chamber test n It validates our design choices. We reproduce the temperature, wind and humidity conditions that you encounter in the mountains. In this way we can adapt our thermal insulation where you most need it.nnFeather impermeability testnWe use a test machine to ensure that the feathers do not escape from your jacket during your activities. So our fabrics are “sealed” with the feathers to ensure a lasting heat.

Care Instructions
Caring for down jackets requires special attention. We recommend using specialist dry cleaning services for the care of your down jacket. Washing: Machine wash at 86°F; add 2 tennis balls to ventilate the down. Rinse twice. Tumble drying highly recommended: synthetic program with three tennis balls to ventilate the down; put the jacket through several cycles until the down has dried completely, otherwise it may clump, losing insulating power.
