High down/feather fill power
This 85/15 padded gilet has a guaranteed minimum fill power of 660 CUIN. The fill power is a measure of the down’s thermal insulation capacity and its potential to “trap” air.
Down with higher fill power takes up more space, trapping more air and providing greater thermal insulation.
The advantages of duck down and feather filling*
The down’s long-lasting fill power gives it 3 important qualities for hiking:
– Thermal insulation thanks to the air trapped in the down and feathers
– Ultra-lightweight: down is lighter than synthetic padding while offering the same degree of warmth. Which makes your backpack lighter
– Ultra-compressible
*As part of our commitment to using responsible production methods, we have decided to work only with RDS (Responsible Down Standard) certified suppliers. This certification guarantees that the down and feathers come from ducks and geese bred for their meat, and not subjected to cruelty. Care advice for a gilet filled with down and feathers
The gilet will be worn all winter and will no doubt need to be washed. Follow our advice by clicking on the link below:

The advantages of a gilet
A gilet keeps the body warm: it protects the chest, neck and lower back from the cold, particularly sensitive to chills.
The sleeveless model weighs less in a backpack, is even more breathable on exertion, and offers great freedom of movement when worn under a jacket.
So sleeveless gilets are particularly popular among hikers during physical exertion.
Product Testing
All our gilets are tested in lab conditions on a thermal manikin under 3 mph wind conditions, representing a moderately strenuous hike. You can therefore compare their thermal insulation qualities, on a scale of 1 to 5 stars, and choose the jacket best suited to your needs.

Care Instructions
Great care is needed when cleaning a down gilet. We recommend that you use dry cleaning services to care for your gilet. Washing: Machine washable at 86°F; add 2 tennis balls to ventilate the down. Rinse twice. Tumble drying highly recommended: synthetics cycle with 3 tennis balls to ventilate the down; repeat the cycle several times until the down is completely dry, otherwise it will form clumps and lose its insulating properties.
