The advantages of hi-tech synthetic padding

The hi-tech padding provides an appealing alternative to feathers:
– it provides good thermal insulation even when wet
– it provides breathability and is suitable for intense physical activity (whereas down is suited to static or moderate physical activity)
– it is easy to look after: machine washable at 86°F and can be tumble-dried

In the event of rain

The material of the quilted jacket is water repellent. It allows drops of water to slide off the fabric which delays penetration of water into the jacket while you get out of the rain. But the down jacket is not waterproof. We therefore recommend wearing a waterproof jacket over the down jacket in the event of prolonged exposure to rain.
