How is backpack volume measured?

The volume of each backpack is measured using a standardized method: we fill the main compartment as well as each pocket with little balls. Then we empty these balls into a graduated container, which gives the equivalent volume in liters.

Backpack technical tests.

We conduct laboratory tests to validate the components:fabrics,buckles,straps,foam padding, zippers, etc. For example, for a fabric:resistance to abrasion and tearing, colorfastness in UV light, resistance to washing, waterproofing… Then, a test is conducted on finished product replicating accelerated demands on the bag over a number of years to check strength of assemblies.The backpack is weighted then placed on a dummy that reproduces the movement of fast walking through thousands of cycles.
