Compact and thin, this padded jacket keeps you warm and frees up space and weight in your backpack. Eco-designed, fill made from 70% recycled polyester.
Warm, lightweight, and durable, this padded jacket helps you backpack comfortably down to 23°F because of the filling power of its technical fill.
Functions
– Inside flap under the zipper that protects from the wind.
– Elasticated cuffs
– Flap at the top of the collar to protect the chin.
– Tightening with an elastic cord and toggle at the hem.
Thermal insulation – warmth
This padded jacket, worn as a 3rd layer, has been certified for an active comfort temperature of 23°F during a standardized test in a thermal chamber.
The model is wearing a synthetic long sleeve T-shirt and a light fleece underneath. It works with a simulated 3 mph wind.
In our heat comparison tool, it represents 2 stars.
We have also tested this model in “static” mode; the comfort temperature is 41°F in this case.
Technical information on the fill
We use 100% polyester fill (70% recycled) weighing 4.4 oz/m² in the body and 3.5 oz/m² in the sleeves and hood.
The fill is made from silicone-coated spiral fibers that make it highly compressible and highly durable.
Despite its low thickness, the air trapped inside provides high insulation properties while allowing it to remain lightweight.
It retains its warmth even when wet.
Durable materials
This polyamide fabric that uses 20 denier thread can withstand 20,000 abrasion cycles.
Martindale test, Standard 12947-2
Outer: 100% polyamide fabric 1.4 oz/m², 20 denier
Lining: 100% polyester fabric 1.2 oz/m², mix of 15 to 20 denier threads
Water-repellent property of component (not to be confused with waterproofing)
The water-repellent property of a fabric is its capacity to make water run off its surface without absorbing it.
This prevents your padded jacket from soaking up water and keeps it lightweight and breathable.
The fabric is made water-repellent by treating its outer surface; however, this property may deteriorate with use.
How to restore water-repellent properties
The water-repellent treatment becomes less effective with time, washing, and use.
Here’s how to restore the water-repellent properties of your padded jacket!

What is a PFC-free water-repellent treatment?
Our water-repellent treatment is PFC-free.
PFCs are used to make fabric water-repellent; however, they are toxic to the environment and people. By substituting PFCs with other technologies giving the same level of performance, we are reducing the environmental impact.
Do you know why the inner lining of your padded jacket is gray?
Because the fabric we use reduces CO2 emissions by 40% of the component in question.
The fabric used is innovative because it mixes a dope-dyed black yarn and an undyed yarn.
Compared to a classic dyeing process, this process reduces by:
• 66% fine particle emissions (PM2.5)
• 74% Eutrophication of fresh water
• 68% eutrophication of sea water
What dyeing process is used?
On the Trek 100 gray padded jacket, the outer fabric uses a clean process known as dope dyeing (mass pigmentation of the thread) reducing CO2 emissions by 36%

How to repair your padded jacket if it has a tear
A tear on a padded jacket can happen when backpacking, and the good news is it can be repaired! You can either mend it or apply a heat-bonded patch so that the tear doesn’t get any bigger and the synthetic fibers escape.
Don’t feel at ease carrying out this repair yourself? Don’t worry! Our in-store Decathlon workshops offer a repair service for your padded jackets.
Valuable advice for improving the durability of your down jacket!
In general, do not wash a down jacket too frequently because each wash decreases its thermal properties.
Determining the environmental impact of our products
The environmental impact of the product is calculated based on its entire lifecycle and using different indicators. A general score from A to E is provided to help you easily identify the most eco-friendly products by comparing products of the same type (T-shirts, pants, backpacks, etc).
Decathlon is committed to displaying this environmental information.
