Our motivation? To design a tent with poles that is easy to pitch and features Fresh&Black technology. Less heat and light in your tent, so you can decide just when to get up!

Our team of campers designed this Arpenaz 4.2 F&B tent with poles for 4 campers wanting 2 separate pre-assembled bedrooms and a spacious living room.

Living room

37.7 ft² living area and a maximum inner tent height of 74.8″.
This tent includes several accessories:
– A foldaway basin-shape groundsheet at the entrance in case of rain
– Transparent shuttered window
– Shuttered mosquito net window
– 2 storage pockets in each bedroom and 8 in the living room.

Pitching and dismantling

All-in-1 frame structure with pre-assembled bedrooms and flysheet.
The 4 colored poles are to be inserted into their respective sleeves. Then make taut by positioning the poles in the black end pieces located below the flysheet. Drive in the V-shaped pegs at the 2 back corners, then pull the tent forward. Then drive in the pegs at the 2 front corners.

We recommend that 2 people pitch the tent.

Sun protection

Our Fresh&Black technology relies on a UPF 50+ sun protection fabric.
Caution: Be careful, as a large amount of UV rays can get in through a simple open door.

Ventilation

The ventilated flysheet on the living area airs the room and reduces condensation inside your tent. Outside each bedroom is a high ventilation hatch. Inside each bedroom is a large, low ventilation hatch. The living room comes with a mosquito net and the bedrooms with high mosquito nets.

Wind resistance

We test all our tents in a wind tunnel on a turntable. The goal is to expose each side of our tent to the same wind intensity.
Properly pitched, with the guy ropes deployed, this tent remains habitable in wind speed 6, measured at 30 mph.

Waterproofing

We test our tents to validate their waterproofing. The 1st test is done in the laboratory, 4 hours under 200 liters of water per hour per m², the equivalent of tropical rain of 200 mm per hour. The 2nd test is done in the field under real conditions by our teams. This tent is fitted with a polyurethane-coated polyester flysheet measuring 2,000 mm. It also has seams that have been waterproofed with heat-sealed strips, and a 4.9 oz/m² polyethylene groundsheet.

Warranty

As designers and users who love nature, we care about the durability of our products. That’s why all our tents are designed to be repairable. Spare parts and repairs for inflatable hoops are available at the workshop of your Decathlon store or on our website.

Poles and tent pegs

Poles – All our poles are made from fiberglass and undergo double quality checks. This guarantees some of the best resistance against breakage.
Tent pegs – All our pegs are made of steel and have a diameter of 6 mm.

Sleeping width

The 2 bedrooms in this tent are intended to accommodate a maximum of 2 27.6″-wide mattresses.

Maintenance advice

Our camping tents have been designed for occasional outdoor use (4 weeks per year) when camping or in the great outdoors. Continued exposure to UV rays over several weeks can damage the fabric. These products are not classified as “lawn furniture” and aren’t designed to be left outdoors permanently. To guarantee maximum durability of your tent, it’s important to store it when not in use.
