We display the “comfort temperatures” on all our sleeping bags, tested by an independent laboratory (AITEX) in compliance with European standard EN 13537 of 11/04/2002. The “comfort temperature” is the lower comfort limit at which a user in relaxed position is in overall thermal balance and is neither hot nor cold (determined for an average woman in normal conditions of use). Choose your sleeping bag according to this measure.

Comfort temperature limits: temperature limit at which the user of the sleeping bag in huddled-up position is generally in thermal equilibrium and is neither cold nor hot (determined for an average man under normal conditions of use).

However, this is what you need to know about temperatures:

A sleeping bag does not produce heat but retains the heat produced by the body. If you are exhausted and cold and you slip inside a cold, damp sleeping bag, it is likely that you will feel cold no matter how good your sleeping bag is! These temperatures therefore depend on the person’s resistance to cold (bulk, fatigue, etc.), equipment (mattress with insulation, etc.), clothing (naked, underwear, etc.), and weather conditions (humidity, wind, etc.).

Specifics for kids:

The higher the volume of air to heat, the more energy the body will use to keep warm and the more risk there is of getting cold during the night. Choose a sleeping bag that’s ADAPTED TO THE KID’S SIZE.
Similarly, kids will lose most heat through their heads. In cold weather, they can put on a hat.
