A waterproof hiking jacket for protecting your child from the rain & taking with him on all his hikes! Its compact design means it can be packed away into its pocket and worn like a bumbag at the waist
Our hiker designers have developed this MH150 waterproof rain jacket to protect your child when braving the wind or rain in the mountains!
The component’s waterproof properties
This garment has been subjected to a 2-hour shower test using 60 liters of water/sqm/hour. This test reproduces the average conditions of a rain shower in the mountains.
A component with a waterproof rating of 2,000 mm is able to resist the pressure exerted by 2,000 mm of water (roughly equivalent to a 2 hour rain shower).
Waterproofing is expressed in Schmerbers (for example: 2000 Schmerbers).
Component breathability
To find out if a fabric is breathable, measure its evaporative resistance RET (test based on ISO 11092). The lower the fabric’s resistance, the more water vapor generated by physical activity evaporates, and the higher the fabric’s breathability. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric / 920 = little or no breathability.
Practical details
Can be packed away in its pocket, and worn like a bumbag around the waist. Central zip opening, hood, elasticated cuffs and waistband
Durability of the components
Resistance to wear test: the fabric, for example, is laboratory tested to check that the fleece doesnโt pill. Color-retention test: the colorfastness is verified to make sure that the colors do not run when coming into contact with saliva. Aging test: repeated washing must not affect the properties of the fabric, its behavior, thickness or appearance.
Care
1/ Machine wash (86 to 104ยฐF): rip-tabs closed, mild detergent. Wash jackets and pants inside out. Loosen straps and elastics. 2/ Avoid folding the garment too much in the washing machine, as: this can damage it. 3/ Do not mix the clothing styles and the colors. 4/ Do not use bleach. 5/ Choose a long rinse and gentle spin cycle. 6/ Either line or tumble dry (low temperature, short cycle).
A score for comparing products’ environmental impact
The product’s environmental impact is calculated over its entire lifecycle using various indicators. An overall rating from A to E is given to help you easily identify products with the best environmental performance by comparing and contrasting products of the same type (T-shirts, pants, backpacks, etc.).
Decathlon actively promotes this environmental rating initiative.
