Ventilated back, comfortable to carry with its waist strap. 5-liter hat pocket, a smartphone pocket on the front of the waist strap, a hidden inside pocket.
At the foot of Mont Blanc, our team of mountain enthusiasts designed this backpack for occasional hikers.
Laboratory test
We conduct laboratory tests to validate the components: fabrics, buckles, straps, foam padding, zippers, etc. I.e. for a fabric: resistance to wear, tearing, washing, water-resistance & colorfastness under UV rays. Then a test on the finished product that simulates the kind of treatment to which it will be subjected over several years, to assess the strength of the assembly: the backpack is weighted & placed on a dummy, which then reproduces the movement of fast walking over thousands of cycles.
10-year warranty, technical partnership
The heavy fabric research and development department, Quechua’s partner for researching and testing its components and assemblies, conducted tests simulating the aging of backpacks. These tests were conducted on the components, seams, and finished product. Quechua uses the results to guarantee the bags tested for a period of 10 years, starting from the date of purchase indicated on the receipt.
10-year warranty, conditions
The warranty covers the defects of the backpack, excluding those resulting from normal wear and improper use. This special 10-year warranty is only valid on presentation of the product and receipt. If the product is covered by the warranty, it will be repaired or exchanged free of charge. This commercial warranty does not exclude applicable legal warranties depending on the country and/or state.
How is volume measured?
The volume of each backpack is measured using a standardized method: We fill the main compartment as well as each pocket with little balls. Then we empty these balls into a graduated container, which gives the equivalent volume in liters.
How to adjust your backpack?
1 – Loosen all the straps (shoulder straps, belt, load adjuster straps). 2 – Put the backpack on. 3. – For bags of 50 L and more, place the strap on your hips (it should cover the hip bones of the pelvis) and tighten it. For smaller backpacks, the belt should be placed around the waist. 4 – Tighten the shoulder straps. 5 – Adjust the load adjuster straps as needed.
How to pack a backpack?
Put your bedding at the bottom. Place the heavy equipment close to your back. Pack your clothes around these items. Keep your waterproof jacket and/or fleece at hand. In the pockets, place the small equipment that you use during the day (sunblock, map, sunglasses, etc.). The water pouch should be placed in the specially designed compartment normally found along the back of the bag.
Environmental measures
The product’s environmental impact is calculated over its entire lifespan, using various indicators. An overall ABCDE score is given to help you easily identify products with the best environmental performance by comparing products of the same type (T-shirts, pants, backpacks, etc.). Decathlon is committed to displaying the environmental information of its products. For further information: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/
