Waterproofing of the component

This garment has been shower-tested using 60 liters of water/sqm/hour for 2 hours. This test reproduces the average conditions of a rain shower in the mountains.
A component with a waterproof rating of 2,000 mm is therefore resistant to pressure exerted by 2,000 mm of water (which corresponds approximately to 2 hours of rain).
Waterproofing is expressed in Schmerbers (for example: 2000 Schmerbers).

BREATHABILITY COMPONENT

To find out if a fabric is breathable, measure its evaporative resistance RET (test based on ISO 11092). The lower the fabric’s resistance, the more water vapor generated by physical activity evaporates, and the higher the fabric’s breathability. For example: RET <9 = extremely breathable fabric / 9 < RET < 12 = very breathable fabric / 12 < RET < 20 = breathable fabric / RET > 20 = fabric that is not breathable or is less breathable.
