What use is anti-UV material?
To protect your eyes from an invisible danger… UV rays.
UV radiation is always present, in winter or in summer, in sunny weather or even overcast, and it can be harmful to your eyes and their contours.
To help preserve your vision, our sunglasses lenses are made from polycarbonate blended with โanti-UVโ material that protects you from harmful sun rays (UVA and UVB).
Polarized
The best for your outdoor activities!
The polarized lenses make colors more vivid and improve contrasts and landscapes.
They give very good protection and are extremely comfortable with light hitting only one axis. They also protect against glare by cutting off rays that reflect on a horizontal surface (water, snow, etc.).
The only downside is that itโs difficult to read screens (phone, etc.) as the polarizing treatment reduces screen light.
GLARE
Categorization of tinted lenses according to the ISO 12312-1 standard:
– Category 1: slightly tinted lens for reduced solar luminosity.
– Category 2: medium tinted lens for medium solar luminosity.
– Category 3: dark lens for heavy solar luminosity (sea and mountains). Between 82% and 92% of visible light absorbed
– Category 4: very dark lens for exceptional solar luminosity (high altitude). Between 92% and 97% of visible light absorbed
Good to know
Our lenses are made from polycarbonate, a shock-resistant material. However, the big disadvantage is that it is prone to scratches.
Even if your lenses are scratched, the UV protection is not reduced as the mirror effect is purely cosmetic.
The same thing for the color of our solar lenses.
Whether gray, brown or colored… you can choose the glasses you like, you will be protected whatever the color.
FRAMES MADE FROM BIOSOURCED POLYMER
We use Rilsan Clear G850 Rnew, a polymer derivative from castor oil, for the frame of these sunglasses.
This biosourced material is a real asset in our developments so we can make a lightweight and flexible frame.
1.5 MM LENSES REDUCE OUR MATERIAL CONSUMPTION
The reduction in our environmental impact also supports the reduction in our material consumption.
By reducing the thickness of our lenses, we can use less material and also make our products lighter while keeping the same features.
GLASSES FRAMES WITH REDUCED ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
To reduce the environmental impact of our glasses, we can take action on material.
We reduce the use of varnish and paint on these sunglasses frames, everything is directly integrated in the product mold. This is still not enough and that’s why we are working to make these sunglasses 100% eco-designed one day.
