A safe bet for protecting you from the rain! This waterproof hiking jacket comes with a waterproof component and taped seams on the shoulders and hood.
Our hiking designers have developed this waterproof rain jacket MH500 to protect kids when it’s rainy and windy in the mountains!
Component waterproofing
We measure a fabric’s resistance to water pressure, expressed in terms of the height of a water column in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. Components scoring 2,000 mm can resist the pressure from 2,000 mm of water (which is equivalent to a rain shower lasting 2 hours). Waterproofing is expressed in Schmerbers (for example: 2,000 Schmerbers).
Windproof effect
Coating applied to the fabric makes it waterproof and windproof. Waterproof fabric has the necessary technical characteristics to be considered windproof. Protection from the wind is critical as, whether playing sports or at rest, wind can chill the body significantly.
Component breathability
Component breathability is measured by its thermal evaporative resistance (RET).
This is its capacity to let water vapor generated by the body during physical activity escape and therefore avoid water accumulating on the skin.
The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric.
RET ≤ 6: very breathable fabric
RET ≤ 12: breathable fabric
RET ≤ 20: little breathability
Our product has a 12 RET rating
Durability of the components
Resistance to wear and abrasion test: For example, we check that our fleeces do not pill using tests conducted in laboratories. Color-retention test: The colorfastness is verified to ensure that the colors do not bleed when coming into contact with saliva. Aging test: Repeated washing should not affect the fabric’s properties, behavior, thickness, or appearance.
Technical details:
Elasticated cuffs. Inner lining mesh, ventilated back. Media pocket with headphone feed.
Care
1/ Machine wash (86°F): Fasten rip-tabs and use mild detergent. Wash jackets and pants inside out. Loosen straps and elastics. 2/ Avoid folding the garment too much in the washing machine: This can damage it. 3/ Do not mix clothing styles and colors. 4/ Don’t use bleach. 5/ Choose a full rinse and gentle spin cycle. 6/ Drying option: Either line or tumble dry (low temperature, short cycle).
