Our motivation? To offer you the lightness and the comfort of a sneaker, combined with the traction and grip of a hiking sole. The perfect compromise for your hikes on off-road trails.
Our hiker-designers have created these NH150 shoes, in an eco-responsible way, for your occasional hikes in the countryside or forest in dry weather
Good grip soles on off-road trails
This soleβs design is the result of long-term research carried out in our labs. We favored a specific rubber formula that optimizes grip and resistance. Since requirements differ for every person, we systematically seek the best compromise for hiking on off-road trails with loose ground, such as forest trails.
Designed for use on off-road trails.
Our hiking shoes are designed for use on off-road trails. We choose the components of the sole and upper of our boots and test them to ensure that they are ideally suited to walking on loose trails (e.g. unpaved forest paths) or rocky trails (e.g. rocky coastal paths). Road use (asphalt) may lead to premature wear on your shoes and cause discomfort. They are not suitable for mountain hiking.
To reduce our environmental impact
We have used more environmentally-friendly components:
– Upper, tongue and collar, laces and loops, lining of the insole: 100% recycled polyester
– Reinforced panels: 24% recycled polyester
– Outsole: 30% recycled rubber
These actions represent 26.5% of the weight of the shoe.
The use of recycled materials reduces the depletion of resources by recycling end-of-life materials. Technical use and quality are guaranteed.
Laboratory tested
Laboratory tests are conducted to test the following elements: secure attachment of eyelets and straps, gluing, toxicology, UV resistance, abrasion of the sole and the components of the upper, accelerated aging. These tests allow us to improve the quality of our products and prevent premature wear of our hiking shoes.
How do you choose the size of your hiking shoes?
Try both shoes on, standing up, wearing the socks you use for hiking. Try several models, several sizes if necessary. Check 2 comfort points:
– the heel seat
– the front of the foot when going downhill
Avoid all compression points when trying on. Feel free to walk around the store. Break in your shoes gradually on your first few hikes to adapt them to your foot.
How do you choose the size of your hiking socks?
You need to choose the right sock size for your foot to avoid any additional creasing in the sock: either because the sock is too big and there is too much fabric around your foot, or because the sock is too small and is pulled toward the inside of the shoe.
The boot/sock combination plays an important role
There are multiple factors that may cause blisters when you are walking: rubbing, a crease in the sock, moisture, a shoe size that is too small or too big, etc. It is therefore important to choose the right size and to have socks made of the right material for your walking shoes.
How do you choose the fabric of your hiking socks?
Moisture must be effectively managed when walking: We all perspire, itβs bound to happen. If your shoe is breathable, it will wick away the moisture from your perspiration. You therefore need to choose a light and breathable sock as well. If your boots are relatively waterproof, you will not make the same choice to protect you from the moisture of the rain: you need to opt for a sock that will absorb your perspiration then wick it as far away as possible from your foot.
Which pair of socks should you wear with the NH150 boot?
These shoes offer a little breathability but not enough to wick away all the moisture from your perspiration. We advise you therefore to opt for the NH100 mid socks: they contain moisture-absorbing cotton and have a reverse terry-knit construction under the sock that wicks moisture away from your foot. They are also high enough to protect your ankle from the shoe. It is an excellent combination to reduce the chance of blisters.
