Eco-designed thanks in part to its recycled fill, enjoy the many likeable features when hiking: Its fleece back as well as its warm and soft pockets make it very comfortable.
Based at the foot of Mont Blanc, our designers developed this warm and waterproof jacket for your winter hikes down to 14°F.
Can you be sure that your jacket is warm enough for your winter hikes?
We developed your jacket for wintry conditions: cold, rain, and snow. The insulation is made from 5.3 oz/m² fill on the body and 3.5 oz/m² on the arms combined with a fleece (synthetic insulating component thanks to the air that it stores in its fibers)
We added an inside flap under the zipper fastening to block incoming cold air. The toggle tightening at the jacket hem is the finishing touch to ensure your jacket is comfortable down to 14°F.
How does your jacket protect you from outdoor conditions?
Your jacket is designed with a waterproof outer component that keeps out water and wind. To keep you warm in winter you must also protect your extremities (head, hands, feet). The warm hood, the Velcro fastenings at the cuffs, and the high collar prevent the cold from entering. 2 warm pockets in extremely soft fleece protect your hands from the cold.
How can you be sure your jacket is 100% waterproof?
We designed your jacket with a coating on the outer fabric to make it waterproof. We measure a fabric’s resistance to water pressure, expressed in terms of the height of a water column in mm(based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure, the more waterproof the fabric.A component with a waterproofing resistance of 2,000 mm resists the pressure of 2,000 mm of water (Schmerbers)Validated in a shower test under 60 L/m²/hour of water, which is roughly equivalent to a 2-hour rain shower
Water often gets in through the seams. Does my jacket have waterproof seams?
Your jacket’s fully taped seams make it waterproof. Waterproof tape is added to the seams inside the garment to make them watertight so that water cannot enter through the more vulnerable areas.
We validated the waterproofing with a shower test specially designed to replicate the conditions of a 2-hour shower. We also wore it in the field in all weather conditions to make sure that it is suited to your activities.
A practical jacket with smart details
Lots of spaces to keep all your accessories safe and handy (tissues, keys, phone, etc.) during your hikes.
2 lined pockets under a flap with a press stud fastening on the outside and a secure pocket with rip-tab fastening inside.
A secure zipper pocket also available on the chest.
How to preserve the technical qualities of your jacket
A fabric’s water-repellent property is its capacity to make water run off its surface without seeping in. This prevents the fabric from soaking up water and keeps it lightweight, warm, and breathable. The water-repellent property is achieved by treating the fabric’s exterior. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment’s lifespan (recommended after each wash). Products (spray or liquid) for this purpose are available in our stores.
A cold weather jacket comfortable for everyday wear.
Jacket designed with sufficient volume inside so that a warm 2nd layer such as fleece or light down can be worn.
Its classic cut is ideal for protecting you from the cold and wind during your winter hikes on all types of terrains.
Sizing and fit information
Close-fitting cut. The jacket is designed to be worn with a warm 2nd layer such as a fleece or a light down jacket.
How to dress properly for snow hiking
To dress properly in winter, whatever your activity, we recommend using the 3-layer principle:
layer 1: The high-tech base layer transfers moisture away from the body to keep your skin dry.
layer 2: The 2nd layer (fleece, sweater) provides warmth and transfers moisture outward.
layer 3: The jacket protects you from outdoor conditions: rain, snow, wind.
The whole outfit must be breathable in order to eliminate moisture.
