These warm boots, waterproof over 2/3 of their height thanks to the double-walled inner shoe, are very easy to get on thanks to their side Velcro. The Snowcontact sole provides good grip in snow
Measurement of the thermal insulation of our boots:
Based on the field and lab tests carried out to measure the perception of cold with a panel of users, we gauge the thermal insulation of our boots when stationary (static) and when moving (dynamic). It is therefore possible to accurately measure the temperature limit of your shoes’ insulation. The comfort temperature ratings are indicated for the boots. We take into account the differences in the perception of cold between men and women.
Footwear waterproofing test:
Tested in the laboratory, the boots provide optimum waterproofing. The boots are initially immersed in water with pressurized air inside to check for bubbles on the surface of the boot. Then they are placed on a mechanical arm simulating walking, half immersed in water. We check that the inside of the boot stays perfectly dry. These laboratory tests are supplemented by use and aging tests in the field.
3 levels of waterproofing:
During the waterproofing tests, we test 3 levels of waterproofing, with 2000 flexes (approx. equivalent to a 2.5-mi walk), 4000 flexes (approx. equivalent to an 5-mi walk) and 8000 flexes (approx. equivalent to a 10-mi walk).
Waterproof rating of the boot:
This boot model has been tested with up to 8000 flexes, equivalent to 10 miles of walking. (The upper of the boot is water-repellent, but the double-walled shoe guarantees water resistance on 2/3 of the height)
SNOWCONTACT technology:
The SNOWCONTACT soles are made with a specific component and stud pattern that is designed to ensure the best possible grip and traction. SNOWCONTACT soles are more effective than traditional soles on snow. When walking on ice, the only way to ensure optimum safety is to add anti-slip grips to your boots.
Field tests:
This boot has been tested in the field by hikers accompanied by the product manager in climatic conditions adapted to its use. In particular, we analyze the technical elements of the boot to check the product against its specifications and any feedback that you have sent us.
Lab tests:
Our engineers conduct laboratory tests to fully guarantee your satisfaction in use. We validate the following elements among other things: strength of the eyelets and straps, strength of the glued assemblies, toxicology, UV resistance, abrasion resistance of the sole and upper components and accelerated aging.
