3 levels of waterproofing
During the waterproofing tests, we test 3 levels of waterproofing, with 2000 flexes (approx. equivalent to a 2.5 mi. walk), 4000 flexes (approx. equivalent to a 5 mi. walk) and 8000 flexes (approx. equivalent to a 10 mi. walk). Of course, after this test or in use, the shoe regains its original waterproofing once the product is dry.
Footwear waterproofing test
The 300 Warm boots are waterproof up to 4,000 flexes.
Field tests
All our boots are tested in use and for comfort by users who are representative of the target market under conditions that replicate those you will experience in use. Our Missions Tests link the product manager up with people who are not affiliated with Quechua to test, develop and approve the products.
Measurement of the boots’ thermal insulation
It was not previously possible to measure precisely the temperature at which your footwear would still insulate your feet from the cold. Now it can be done: the temperature limits for use are shown on your Quechua boots. Using subjective sensory chill tests conducted in the field and in the lab with a panel of customers, we measure the thermal resistance of our boots when the user is moving and stationary. We take into consideration the differences between men and women.
Lab tests
Laboratory tests were conducted to test the following elements: attachment of eyelets and straps, fixtures, toxicology, UV resistance, sole and upper component abrasion and premature aging.
